Hello Roger,
A warm 'hello' from Belafonte (ex. Mary-Eliza), the 2000 Malo 42 you helped us purchase in Grenada.
We're writing to let you know that she's been great to us, we've invested quite a bit in retrofitting her (new engine, rigging, sails, electrical components, electronics, thru-hulls, safety gear, +++), which we were able to do given her price (she sure needed lots of love & elbow grease ;-).
We just made it across the Atlantic with ARC Europe - did not have one issue with her along the way - she sails beautifully, and has been super reliable and a very comfortable home for us, we could not be happier (OK maybe an HR 46 ;-).  We're planning to spend the summer in the Med and come back with ARC + to the Caribbean in November & then onto the Pacific.  Life is good.
So, once again thank you for helping us make our dreams come true.

Three reasons why I would purchase another boat from Free State Yachts:

1. Technical Knowledge
Roger Johansson knew the boat I purchased from him very well. I never hesitated to contact Roger during the time I owned my boat for advice before working with another vendor. I know he visits the Hallberg Rassy yard in Sweden annually. Roger has a mechanical and electrical background and this was valuable to me in making my decision to purchase a Hallberg Rassy from him.

2. Trust
Honesty was key to my decision to work with Free State Yachts. Roger and Liz had a good reputation locally, and the references I contacted prior to purchasing my boat spoke highly of Roger and Free State Yachts.

3. Getting the deal done.
Both buying and selling were easy. Liz was organized and informed, and Roger coordinated resources quickly to close both our purchase and sales agreements. He facilitated an enjoyable process and I have become friends with both the person I purchased my boat from and the people I sold my boat to.

I look forward to working with Roger and Free State Yachts again in the future.

"We truly appreciate your support in our sailing efforts. It is hard to believe that we have in less than two years, purchased the HR46 and developed to the point where we can say we sailed in the Caribbean 1500 to Tortola from the Chesapeake Bay and spent weeks sailing around the US and British Virgin Islands. We look with anticipation to sailing back in May with the Atlantic Cup Rally via Bermuda.

We really are comfortable and feel very safe living aboard and sailing Trillium. She catches the attention of other sailors and is well received by volunteer crew who choose sailing with us over others because of the boat. We have also enjoyed connecting with other Hallberg-Rassy owners which your annual owners' party has helped to facilitate.

Your support during the sales process was accurate and very helpful in our decision to purchase. You really helped two novices buy their first sail boat. Then after the sale, to our great benefit, you and your staff worked with us with as much energy, advice and support as you had before the sale. Truly you have made our sailing adventure an outstanding experience.

Thank you for all you have provided to us in friendship, service and support."

Sincerely, Dennis and Sherry Day

"The Albin 30FC you sold us made it safely to our dock in NC. Thank you so very much for all your help. You made the transaction and transport so much easier. We would highly recommend you!. We spent the 4th of July weekend on our new boat and had a great time. She is a very sound, comfortable vessel..."

"The boat is great but we're just as glad that we bought it from you at FSY and we will always let people know that who you buy a boat from is just as important as what you buy..."

"I am writing this letter to thank you and commend you for an outstanding job representing Kemosabe. Your advice on everything from pricing to maintenance and care issues made a big difference. Like a lot of sellers, I seriously considered selling her myself. In retrospect, when I look at the myriad of issues you dealt with as part of the sale and delivery process, even with a fair amount of knowledge, I would have been way out of my league.
I also want to thank you for your generous assistance with maintenance and mechanical issues over all the years I owned Kemosabe to help me keep her in bristol condition.

Not only were my 7 years of sailing the Atlantic coast trouble free and unbelievably enjoyable as a result, but the boat's new owner will benefit from that care and another satisfied Hallberg-Rassy owner will have been "commissioned" "...

"I wanted to drop you guys a note at Free State Yachts that documents the super customer service I experienced regarding my recent purchase of "Tangent", a Tartan 31. As we proceeded towards closing, Free State Yachts gave me a very competitive bid for de-rigging and prepping Tangent for trucking to Charleston. Two weeks later Tangent arrived in Charleston and I was absolutely ecstatic when I opened her main cabin hatch to find everything inside (rigging, hardware, electrical, instruments, cabinet contents, etc) organized, wrapped, boxed, taped and labeled... the process of de-rigging her, the riggers commented that the de-rigging process was the most detail oriented as they had ever seen on any used or new boat, leaving no mystery as to what went where.
From the beginning of this process to the end, my out of town purchase of Tangent was effortless on my part... when I eventually move up to a larger vessel, I will definitely be giving the guys at Free State Yachts a call!" ... Rick Cone.
