Hello Roger,
A warm ‘hello’ from Belafonte (ex. Mary-Eliza), the 2000 Malo 42 you helped us purchase in Grenada.
We’re writing to let you know that she’s been great to us, we’ve invested quite a bit in retrofitting her (new engine, rigging, sails, electrical components, electronics, thru-hulls, safety gear, +++), which we were able to do given her price (she sure needed lots of love & elbow grease ;-).
We just made it across the Atlantic with ARC Europe – did not have one issue with her along the way – she sails beautifully, and has been super reliable and a very comfortable home for us, we could not be happier (OK maybe an HR 46 ;-). We’re planning to spend the summer in the Med and come back with ARC + to the Caribbean in November & then onto the Pacific. Life is good.
So, once again thank you for helping us make our dreams come true.

S/V ENDEAVOUR HR36 #576

Now that Endeavour has been put away for the winter, Kathy and I would like to send you this long overdue note of thanks for everything you and Liz did to help us in acquiring Endeavour. From the time you showed her to us in late March, completing the negotiations, advice in upgrades, introducing us to the owner and purchase, through sailing her to her new home port in Greenport NY, the experience has been nothing short of exceptional! She is truly a special boat and having the opportunity to sail Endeavour from Annapolis to the New York Harbor with the previous owner was a unique experience in getting to know the boat in detail and her history back to when she was built in Ellos Sweden.

Acquiring a Hallberg Rassy has been a life event for the past 15 years. Getting to know you personally from previous boat shows, chatting on the phone and your reputation with other Hallberg Rassy owners was probably the single most important factor in actually executing this plan in our lives! Even after the purchase, your continued advice on maintenance and caretaking has been invaluable. I have even learned a few words of Swedish along the way!

We plan to do some upgrades and enhancements over the winter to prepare her for sailing in the North East this coming summer and taking Endeavour South for the following winter. The South East US coast, the Bahamas, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean are all in the plans.

Based upon our experience with FreeState Yachts, you honesty and fairness in negotiations, your deep understanding of the boats you represent and your continued support, we would he happy to be a reference for anyone who is considering purchasing a sailing vessel from your firm. A much belated thank you for helping us find new owners for WINDRUSH. it was a real pleasure working with you and Liz when we bought our HR36 in 2012 and all the professionalism and qualities we appreciated in you then were even more evident when we decided to sell our boat in 2019. We could not have been happier. The advice you gave us from listing to the sale was honest and straight forward; your deep knowledge of the boat and all of its systems was invaluable as we dealt with the yard and prepared the boat for sale; and your knowledge of the market was key to the successful sale. We always felt well informed and never pressured.
